CONSULTING IN NATURE-BASED THERAPY

What is Ecotherapy /ˈēkōˌ ther·a·py/?

Ecotherapy (Nature-Based Therapy) is the integration of nature with evidence-based clinical practice in mental health.

  • Address self-awareness & emotional awareness.

  • Work 1:1 with a therapist and in partnership with nature.

  • Learn to thrive, find wholeness & heal.

Learn to restore calm and balance while discovering how to access tools to manage stress on any level.

Nature-Based Therapy (NBT) as a widely accepted, clinical model for assisting with stress-related illness such as anxiety, depression and trauma. Using both narrative and cognitive behavioral therapies in combination with foundations of mindfulness, we teach the skills of awareness and non-judgement. This design of this integrative practice was supported by a team of health specialists, crisis responders, traditional healers and wilderness experts, and is proven to have greater success at helping people sustain a more positive state of mental health and personal empowerment.

Therapy sessions can look different for each client and could be as simple as an office appointment or taking a walk outside.

Sensory Experience

Relaxing and diverse sensory stimulations of a natural environment are ideal for working with body awareness and mindful presence.

Outdoor Skills

A solution for over stimulation of modern life and screens. Attention is placed firmly in the present to remain in physical engagement with the world while solving for natural consequences.

Writing/Reading

Creating a bridge of parallels between the processes in nature and life’s experiences. Stories and symbolism evoke acceptance, organic thought, personal insight and the development of intuition.

Our model consists of six distinct elements:

Access the situation by creating space between emotions and actual experiences, values, and current actions.

Values

Consider what you find important in life as the basis for setting up goals that serve as a compass in your actions.

Diffusion

Observing your own emotions and thoughts as a tool to turning stressful events into something more manageable and less frightening.
