Lindsay Cray, LMHC-D, is a licensed psychotherapist, outdoor guide, and clinical consultant specializing in Nature-Based Therapy for trauma recovery and professional practice. With over two decades of experience blending conservation, experiential education, and mental health counseling, she has pioneered a Nature-Based Clinical Therapy model that supports profound healing through intentional engagement with outdoor environments. Her work has been especially impactful with military veterans and emergency service professionals overcoming PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
As a certified hiking guide and wilderness survival specialist, Lindsay brings a rare integration of clinical expertise and outdoor leadership to both counseling and professional training. She provides consultation, education, and program development for clinicians and organizations seeking to incorporate evidence-informed, trauma-responsive outdoor interventions into therapeutic practice. Her teaching emphasizes nervous system regulation, embodied healing, environmental engagement, and ethical implementation in real-world settings.
Lindsay is an internationally recognized speaker and educator, presenting on Nature-Based Therapy and trauma rehabilitation at conferences including the Association for Experiential Education International Conference, the New York State Mental Health Counselors Association, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s Nature as Medicine Doctors Outdoor Summit, and the United Nations COP15 World Summit on Climate Change.
